Q: What are your climbing goals?
I’m currently learning to lead climb, so I’m working on getting outside more. My goal for this summer specifically is to lead outside a couple times, but a more long term goal is to lead a multi pitch.
Q: Most memorable climbing experience?
My most memorable climbing moment was when I finally got a “reachy” V5- that I had been working on for months. I’m not the tallest climber so it was really great to finally get that climb that a lot of other people my height weren’t able to get.
Q: What do you like most about MyClimb?
MyClimb is really helpful for logging climbs and tracking my improvements. I also like the competitive factor of points. My friends and I often compare our recent climbs, and it’s really great to be able to show my coaches what I’ve been climbing on our off days.
Q: What do you enjoy most about climbing?
The best thing about climbing, at least in my eyes, is that sense of community among all climbers. For example, you met another climber you immediately have so much to talk about.
Q: How did you start climbing?
Well my parents were both avid climbers before I was born, and I needed CAS (creativity, action, service) hours for my international baccalaureate diploma, so I decided to take up a sport. So why not rock climbing?
Q: Favorite Climbing Discipline?
Top roping is definitely my favorite. I love endurance climbing; actually, my gym is likely going to go from 40′ walls to 60′ walls. I’m very excited!
Q: Favorite Place to climb or destination?
My favorite place to climb is Sportrock 2 in Alexandria, VA. I’ve been climbing there my entire climbing career, and it’s where I feel most comfortable climbing.
